Ep 56/57 Travel Guide – Presidents at Hollywood Cemetery, Richmond, VA

Hollywood Cemetery was established in 1847 and was designed by noted architect John Notman of Philadelphia. It is noted as a garden cemetery, located on the banks of the James River, and spans 135 acres.

Aside from its roots, Hollywood Cemetery is full of the history of those who rest there to include past presidents, local folklore legends, soldier memorials, and famous generals. A gorgeous place for a walk (or drive)…a must visit if you are in Richmond for a visit!

Tips

This is a decently driveable cemetery…although we did see a fair amount of people walking. The cemetery is right near the heart of the city so there is no shortage of places to find and eat.
