Ep 55 Travel Guide – Army Navy Store History | Norfolk, VA (free preview)

Army Navy surplus stores have been around for quite some time. Some as early as after the Civil War…but they really got their commercial feet underneath them after World War II.

M and G Sales Company Inc started in 1946 by a couple of brothers in the Norfolk, Virginia area. These stores have so much history to them, and our visit to Norfolk’s largest and oldest surplus store was no exception!

If you are looking for some dinner and drinks recommendations after you visit M and G Sales Co, you are in luck!

Not far away is one of our favorite places to eat in Norfolk…The Fish n’ Pig. It is a mix of seafood and BBQ…but we tend to go for the bang bang shrimp tacos…they’re amazing!

If you’re just looking for drinks, Maker’s Craft Brewery is a great option to kick back and relax in an open atmosphere with plenty of options to wet your whistle. In the summer and spring Maker’s has a ton of out door seating options too.
