As always, a great episode. Helped me get through a long boring drive back from NJ. One interesting point I read about the “spotting of the Doolittle Raid” that I wanted to share with you. The boat that might have spotted them through they were a returning IJN carrier. They never could have imagined a USN carrier in that location. I can’t recall which book had that comment. It was something the USN learned well after the Doolittle Raid.
huh…hadn’t heard that. yes, learning more about these WW2 events is always fascinating. 🙂
A very good book that addresses the myths about the Battle of Midway is “Shattered Sword.” https://www.audiobooksnow.com/audiobook/shattered-sword/3109094/?msclkid=112ffd14b7cb1a43aecf97112bb24feb
